Revanth gets full support from high command?

It appears the Congress high command has given a free hand to Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy to run the party in the state and keep aside any dissident elements that create troubles for him.

Revanth Reddy, who had been lying low for quite some, changed his tune after the meeting with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi two weeks ago.

He has talking in aggressive tone since then, sending stern warning to the party leaders crossing the discipline.

On Sunday, the PCC chief tweeted a message giving a strong message to the dissidents in the party. Stating that the unity would give strength to the Congress party, he warned the party leaders against violating the party code,

“If anybody makes criticism against the important leaders of the party and those who are in prominent positions either in public or in the social media, they would be permanently expelled from the party, besides facing criminal cases,” he asserted.

Obviously, Revanth’s statement was aimed at dissident leaders like T Jagga Reddy, Komatireddy brothers, V Hanumantha Rao, Damodar Rajanarasimha and others, who are criticising Revanth publicly.

Apparently, Revanth got the green signal from the high command to take action against the dissidents, but only as a last resort.

The high command told Revanth that the party leadership would stand by him and he was free to take action against any disgruntled elements.

“Unless the dissidence in the party is curtailed, the party would not think of coming to power. So, we need to nip it in the bud,” the high command reportedly told Revanth.
