Jagga snubs Revanth, hints at defecting to TRS!

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president and firebrand MP from Malkajgiri Anumula Revanth Reddy’s aggressive approach has earned him enemies not only in the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi, but also within the Congress party.

Till recently, it was Komatireddy brothers and seniors like V Hanumantha Rao and M Shashidhar Reddy, who were fretting and fuming at Revanth for his unilateral decisions in the party and controversial statements.

On Friday, it was the turn of senior Congress leader and Sangareddy MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy, who is also holding the post of the working president of PCC.

Jagga Reddy fumed at Revanth for not taking the seniors into confidence and running the party as per his whims and fancies.

He expressed dissatisfaction over the way Revanth toured Sangareddy district, particularly Zaheerabad, on friday without giving information to the local leaders.

“I had no information about Revanth’s visit to Zaheerabad. Not only me, even former minister J Geetha Reddy, who is also the TPCC working president and Zaheerabad MLA, was not told about his visit,” he criticised.

Stating that the Congress party is not a one-man show, Jagga Reddy said Revanth cannot take up programmes to boost his personal image.

“This won’t do in the Congress party. Does he want to convey the message to the party that he has differences with me?” he asked.

Jagga Reddy alleged that he was not deliberately given a mike to speak at the public meeting in Gajwel.

“It is not great to conduct public meetings. I, too, can hold a bigger public meeting, if I want,” he said.

He said he had been facing humiliations in the Congress party, despite being loyal to it and striving for its victory for several years.

“I have not been getting any chance to speak up in the party. I have lakhs of followers across Telangana. Who will stop me, if I want to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi?” he asked.
