Why KCR dragged Naidu's wife into GHMC election mess?

While TDP leaders are shocked over Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s remarks on TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneshwari while delivering his speech at the TRS party public meeting for GHMC elections campaigning at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad, on Saturday, leaders from other Oppsition parties and even TRS leaders were surprised at KCR referring to her name in his speech, which was never the case earlier.

KCR termed Bhuvaneshwari as his ‘sister-in-law’ and commented that when TRS party activists met her seeking votes for GHMC elections, she promised to vote for TRS.

If any other leader had made such comments, it would not have attracted such an attention. But such statement coming from none other than CM of Telangana, it evoked sharp reactions from all quarters.

Nara Lokesh was quick to reach via Twitter soon after TRS public meeting on Saturday night itself.

Lokesh tweeted on behalf of his mother, saying that it’s the rejoinder from his mom on KCR's statement in which she said, "I am appalled by the way CM of a state lied in a public meeting that I will vote for TRS. It's really unfortunate and sad that he choose to use me to confuse the voters. To set the record straight my vote is always for TDP."

Chandrababu too reacted on this issue from Vizag on Sunday by holding teleconference with party leaders. He said KCR was resorting to such cheap tricks as he was frustrated with TRS bad position in GHMC elections and expressed confidence that TDP-BJP combine would emerge as winner.

However, political analysts view that an an attempt by KCR to create confusion among TDP leaders and party cadre just two days ahead of polling by dragging Bhuvaneshwari into this mess. They also see this as an attempt to attract Seemandhra voters, especially women in Hyderabad towards TRS by referring to Bhuvaneshwari.

Even during the peak of Telangana statehood agitation, KCR was confined to attacking Naidu but never spoke against his family members.

Not only TRS, even leaders from Opposition parties also never commented anything against Bhuvaneshwari, though they usually criticize his son Nara Lokesh, after he became active in TDP. Because Bhuvaneshwari never takes part in TDP activity or any political activities and confines herself to managing Heritage business or home.
