Politics is a place where friends turn foes and vice versa without blinking an eye.
There was a time when Jagga Reddy was the leader of Congress in Medak district.
At that time, he was totally pampered by the then CM Kiran Kumar Reddy. Incidentally, he had good ties with late CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy. At one time, he was also friends with Vijayashanti and Damodar Rajanarasimha who considered him to be his right-hand man.
Now, he has jumped into BJP and the Saffron party immediately nominated him as their candidate for the by-poll in Medak Lok Sabha constituency.
In fact, TRS leader Harish Rao has called him a Telangana drohi and said that BJP will have to fight it out with Congress for the second and third positions.
Brushing aside the statement, Jagga Reddy alias Jayaprakash Reddy retorted that going back to BJP was like home-coming to him as he started out as a BJP activist in the past. He also bragged that he will show ‘tamasha’ if he wins and promised to give KCR sleepless nights.
But there is one question that is on top of the minds of many people.
How could BJP welcome a man like Jagga Reddy, who with his characteristic unkempt beard and brash style of conduct has jumped from one party to the other with no apparent reason?
According to those in political circles, given Jagga Reddy’s close association with many political leaders, he is said to know their secrets and their shortcomings. And for BJP looking to find a firm foothold in the state, he is a mine of information, it is being said.
