People's leader and former Prime Minister, the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee once remarked in Parliament, “Democracy is just a game of numbers. Getting past the magic number seems to be the only priority of political parties. But we will not resort to any unethical practices to gain power or stay in the limelight.”
Of course, this was in 1999. Today, all parties including the BJP do not hesitate to adopt any means to form the government. But, one person who has been consistent throughout his career is Chandrababu Naidu.
He has and will do anything or power and the concept of ‘unethical’ does not exist at all in his jargon. In fact, he is the ultimate definition of the modern-day politician.
Look at his strategies over the years: When he started his political career in the Congress, he publicly challenged that he would contest the election even against senior NTR but later jumped to the TDP.
Then he usurped power from NTR and yet continues to garland the statues of NTR. He comprehensively sidelined Harikrishna and other members of NTR’s family from any active political role but then lends a helping hand in carrying the body of Harikrishna to the funeral pyre.
In fact, he seems to have taken a leaf out of Modi's book who also accompanied the funeral procession of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in a similar fashion.
If all such incidents of Naidu are made into a book, it will be bigger than the Encyclopedia Britannica. But then, that is Chandrababu Naidu!
Had Chandrababu, Ramoji Rao and Radhakrishna been around during the Mahabharata period, they would have successfully convinced Vyasa Maharishi that it was Chandrababu who revealed the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna and not Lord Krishna.
