Senior Rayalaseema Congress leader and former minister J C Diwakar Reddy on Saturday came down heavily on AICC president Sonia Gandhi for dividing the State.
JC described Sonia as a “mad” and “mental” woman, who had no concern towards the people of Seemandhra.
“Like giving stone to a mad person, we have given power to Sonia and she used it to attack the lives of Seemandhra people,” he said.
He felt that the Congress remained lifeless in the Seemandhra region due to bifurcation of the State.
He said the Congress party was no more in the Seemandhra region due to its “anti-people decision” to bifurcate the State. There was no chance of recovery for the Congress in the Seemandhra region in the near future, he added.
He also made it clear that he never said he would quit the Congress and the future would decide his political fate.
The matter of floating a new political party did not figure in his discussion with Kiran Kumar Reddy, he said.
