Even as the leaders of Opposition parties in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have been crying foul over luring of their MLAs by the TRS and TDP in their respective States, more and more of their MLAs are joining the ruling parties.
In Telangana, Congress MLA from Khammam Puvvada Ajay is getting ready to join the TRS on Monday.
Ajay had been, in fact, a vocal critic of the TRS and had raised his voice several times against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in engineering defections from the Opposition parties.
But things have changed after the TRS captured the Khammam municipal corporation and now that by-elections to Palair Assembly seat are round the corner, TRS tried hard to rope Ajay into the TRS. And as expected, he went out of reach for the Congress bosses.
In Andhra Pradesh, the defection spree has been continuing despite the hue and cry raised by YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Latest news is that Srisailam MLA Budda Rajasekhar Reddy and Araku MLA Kidari Sarveshwara Rao are also joining the TDP in a day or two. Already, Kadiri MLA Chand Basha defected to the TDP and Addanki MLA Gottipati Ravi Kumar is also getting ready to join the TDP.
It is anybody’s guess as to why the Opposition party MLAs are joining the ruling parties. That is the power of power!
