When Pawan Kalyan’s movie Puli was first christened Komaram Puli, the TRS led by Kavitha who was in –charge of funds collection from Tollywood then, forced the makers to drop the title ‘Komaram’ saying that it was an insult to Komaram Bheem, a tribal leader who fought against the Nizam and died martyr to his cause.
That’s about where the association with Komaram Bheem ends for the politicians. They make use of his name but do not fulfill their promises made to the family of Komaram Bheem.
The last time that KCR visited the family of Komaram Bheem, he promised the latter’s grandson Rs 10 lakh and government jobs for his son and daughter. The family is now living in poverty but to date; KCR has not found the time to act on his promises.
“This is not the first time that I have been stood up after being promised Rs.10 lakh. In 2001, the then Union Minister and current Maharashtra Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao had also promised to sanction the same amount to my family,” Sone Rao, grandson of Komaram Bheem said.
