Kanna Laxminarayana Joins BJP

Kanna Laxminarayana Joins BJP

In a major shock to the Congress in Andhra Pradesh, six time MLA and former minister Kanna Laxminarayana joined the BJP.

Kanna met BJP National President Amit Shah and has joined in the party in his presence.

Kanna was one of the Chief Minister aspirants in Congress Party and he tried hard to become PCC Chief in the past. However, Congress Party’s flop show in 2014 elections made him to think about his future and therefore he decided to join in BJP.

Earlier, Purandareswari and Kavuri Sambasiva Rao have left Congress and joined in BJP, while Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Galla Aruna joined in Telugu Desam Party.

Kanna tried hard to get into TDP, but majority of Guntur TDP leaders opposed this and they said that they will not cooperate with Kanna Lakshminarayana. With no option left to chose, Kanna has jumped into Bharatiya Janata party.

The Kapu leader from Guntur, who did not leave the Congress even during its worst days, has ditched the party signalling that the BJP is preparing for bigger things in Andhra Pradesh despite its alliance with the TDP.

Kanna's defection comes on the same day when Rahul Gandhi discussed organisational affairs with PCC chief Raghuveera Reddy in New Delhi.
