With the onset of Ugadi, the beginning of the Telugu calender year, it’s time for pundit to make all sorts of predictions for political parties and leaders.
One can understand if Hindu pundits make predictions based on their own interpretations of Panchangam (almanac). But Deputy leader of the Congress party in the Telangana Legislative Council Mohd Ali Shabbir has come out with his own panchangam to predict the fate of Telugu States.
Quoting numerologists, Shabbir Ali said presence of “moon” is not for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States.
It is a coincidence that both the States are being ruled by leaders who have “moon” (Chandra) in their names – Chandrasekhar Rao for Telangana and Chandrababu Naidu for Andhra Pradesh.
“According to numerologists, it is not an auspicious for the people of the two States to have moon in the names of their Chief Ministers,” he said.
He pointed out that astrologers had predicted that the situation would not be favourable for KCR after March 2017 and he would face problems, leading to a crisis in State politics.
In Andhra Pradesh, too, there would be continuous drought for the next two years, only because of the presence of moon in the Chief Ministers’ name.
“Personally, I don’t have faith in astrology but the predictions of the numerologists cannot be overlooked,” he said.
