Divyavani sending feelers to join YSRC?

It has been quite some time since one has heard about Tollywood actress-turned-political activist Divyavani. After parting ways with the Telugu Desam Party with which she had been associated for a long time as a spokesperson, she made a few attempts to join the YSR Congress party, but did not succeed.

Later, she met senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in September last year and evinced interest in joining the saffron party. Subsequently, there has been no information from her end and it is not known whether she joined the BJP or not.

Now, there is a talk that Divyavani is sending feelers to YSRC again with her former associates in the film industry.

The other day, she was all praise for actress and minister for tourism R K Roja and said given an opportunity, she would like to work with the latter.

In an interview to a television channel, Divyavani said she could not adjust herself in the TDP.

“Like me, many others including Sharada, Jayaprada, Jayasudha, Kavitha and Roja, also came out of the party as they felt suffocated in the TDP. But among all these women actresses, only Roja could emerge a bold politician,” she said.

She said Roja was different from others and she had proved herself to be a real politician.

“Actresses who entered politics are looked down upon and they do not command respect among the people. But Roja has proved that it is a wrong notion and she stood as a symbol of women force,” Divyavani said.

Stating that she had worked with Roja when she was in the TDP, Divyavani said she had no differences with the minister.

“If given a chance, I will definitely work with her and I have no objection to the same,” she said.

The actress said she would soon take a decision on his political journey and hoped that she would stage a comeback into politics with a bang.

It is not immediately known whether Divyavani got any response from the YSRC leadership. Earlier, she had made an attempt to seek an appointment with party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy but did not succeed.

Apparently, she put forth quite a few demands like getting a prominent position in the party such as appointment as party’s official spokesperson.

She also reportedly sought an assurance from the party high command for an MLC seat or a nominated post in the coming days.

But now, she might have to seek an entry into the party unconditionally, sources said.
