In recent times, whenever the Ministers of Andhra Pradesh have been faced with the choice of either fighting for the Telugu people or hanging on to their posts, they have opted for the latter.
The trend seems to be continuing even after bifurcation.
Responding to a query on why he is not questioning the government on the raw deal being meted out to Andhra Pradesh, Venkayya Naidu shot back angrily, “I am in the government. How can I question the government?”
Time and again whenever the interests of the Telugu people are being sacrificed at the altar of political expediency, the politicians have only chosen to hang on to their plum jobs as Ministers.
What is to prevent Venkayya Naidu, a senior leader from resigning from the BJP and fighting for AP? But then, can a man who uttered such lies in Rajya Sabha and is remaining silent today, be expected to choose people over power?
