The sudden defection of two YSR Congress party MPs into the Telugu Desam Party seems to have woken up party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy from deep slumber.
Within no time, Jagan began the damage control exercise to ensure that there would be no more defections from the party.
Accordingly, Khammam MP Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy declared that he would remain in the YSR Congress party and that he had no intention of jumping the fence.
Another YSR Congress party MP from Araku constituency Kottapalli Geetha said that she would continue in the party and work under the leadership of Jagan. She scoffed at the rumours that she was switching over to TDP.
“There is no truth in such rumours. I have friends in TDP as well and some of them called me up to congratulate on my victory. No one has approached me to cross over and even if there will be any such offer in future, it will be declined,” she said.
