It looks like Y S Sharmila, daughter of former chief minister of combined Andhra Pradesh late Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, has mastered the art of attracting people much before she launched her political party.
On one hand, Sharmila wants to claim the true legacy of her father and on the other, she wants to display her affinity to Telangana and prove that she is a true Telanganite.
It was evident from her appearance before she left for Khammam to address a huge public meeting to announce the launch of her new political party.
Sharmila wore a typical old-styled wrist watch, with black strap. Enquiries revealed that the watch was that of her father YSR, who had it on his hand till his death.
While waving to the crowds from her vehicle during his journey from Hyderabad to Khammam, she ensured that everybody noticed this watch.
Obviously, Sharmila wants to prove that she would be carrying the political legacy of her father at least in Telangana. Since she is talking about bringing back Rajanna Rajyam, she sported the YSR watch to send a message to the people that only she is the true heir of YSR.
Similarly, the saree she wore with light golden yellow colour with dark blue border also has a significance. It is learnt it was woven by weavers of Sircilla, which is popular for making Bathukamma Sarees.
By wearing the saree, Sharmila wants to prove that she is a true Telanganite and has a lot of affection for the weaving community. Obviously, she has learnt the tricks of the trade in politics!
