Anakapalle former MP and Visakhapatnam former mayor Sabbam Hari was reported Covid positive and is being treated in Visakhapatnam hospital.
Sources say that Hari’s situation is critical and is said to be battling for life.
TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is also closely monitoring the health condition of the former MP, who joined the party before the 2019 elections and contested from Visakhapatnam on TDP ticket.
Hari was initially close to Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and had played key role and stood by Jagan when the latter was arrested by the CBI in 2012.
However, he had differences with Jagan and had moved away from the YSR family later.
Though he sailed with former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and contested the 2014 general elections on the former chief minister’s party, he withdrew from contest in the eleventh hour.
It is said that he withdrew from the contest only on the request of the TDP and the BJP, which together fielded Kambhampati Haribabu from Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency.
Having lost the 2019 general elections, Hari had been critical on the government headed by Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He took active part in campaigning against Jagan Mohan Reddy government and aligned with the TDP.
He became the darling of the anti-Jagan media, particularly Andhra Jyothi group and the TV5 media.
