Jagan Govt Firm On Holding 10th Class Exams!

Jagan Govt Firm On Holding 10th Class Exams!

Notwithstanding the seriousness of the second wave of Coronavirus pandemic across the country, the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government is hell-bent on conducting the examinations for Class X in the state.

Many states including Telangana have cancelled the 10th class examinations and declared everybody passed.

Even the Centre has announced that all the Class X students in the CBSC and ICSE schools are deemed to have passed the exams, as there is no possibility of conducting exams due to the pandemic.

But Andhra Pradesh education minister Adimulapu Suresh announced that there is no question of cancelling the Class 10 exams.

“They will be held as per the schedule from June 7. All arrangements have been made for the conduct of the examinations,” he said.

He said there are still three weeks to go for the examinations and the government hoped that things would become normal by that time.

“We shall review the decision, depending on the seriousness of the situation at that time,” he said.

Since the schools were closed due to summer vacations till the month end, the Class 10 students should prepare for the examinations keeping in view the present schedule. He said all the teachers should have to come to the schools from June 1.

He said the government would take every precaution to see that the examinations were held in a safe and secure atmosphere by strictly following the Covid-19 protocol.

“In Kerala and Bihar, the 10th class examinations have already been conducted and in Karnataka, the government is going to hold the exams as per the schedule. So, we, too, can conduct the same without any hassles,” Suresh added.

Since the students have already been preparing for the exams, it is not difficult to conduct them.

“It is not proper to cancel the exams and pass all the students. It would affect their grading,” the minister said.
