The opposition TDP leaders are busy debating whether Vijayawada MP, Kesineni Nani, is becoming a rebel MP for the party.
Some of the TDP leaders see the prospects of Kesineni donning Raghurama Krishnam Raju role for the TDP as the elections approach.
YSR Congress rebel MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju has been speaking openly both inside the Parliament and outside on daily basis against his own party leadership and the state government.
It is said that Kesineni is also doing the same for the TDP with his remarks against the party leadership and its prospects for the 2024 general elections.
Kesineni is said to have commented that the party would not win more than 50 MLA seats in the next election.
He is also said to have commented that the former TDP MP and now the BJP member in Rajya Sabha, C M Ramesh would split the party.
Kesineni is also attributed as saying that party chief Chandrababu Naidu has either the strength or the vision to lead the party to victory in the next election.
He is said to have given reasons for his statement and said that Naidu is listening to the selfish leaders, who lack vision.
Though he is not criticising the party leadership on daily basis like Raghurama Krishnam Raju, the TDP leaders are of the opinion that Kesineni’s comments would cause greater harm to the TDP.
Some of the senior leaders also link Kesineni’s comments with the open comments made earlier by former minister Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary.
Several senior leaders of the TDP, including its AP unit president, K Atchennaidu, are making adverse comments against the party and its prospects in the 2024 elections in their private talks.
In this backdrop, Kesineni’s comments have caused greater harm to the party by demoralising the cadre, who are already upset with the private comments of Atchennaidu and Butchaiah Chowdary.
It is to be seen how Chandrababu Naidu would handle these leaders and avert such comments from the party leaders.
