Amaravati Farmers Meet Governor

Amaravati Farmers Meet Governor

The farmers of Amaravati villages have met Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan in Vijayawada and requested him to intervene and do justice to them.

The farmers submitted a representation to the Governor informing the background of selecting Amaravati as capital and land pooling besides the promises given to them by the previous government.

They also gave a detailed information about the present government’s proposal to shift the capital from Amaravati.

The farmers said that shifting of executive capital to Visakhapatnam and judicial capital to Kurnool will deprive the promised development of Amaravati.

The farmers said that the previous government had promised to develop their lands, give them developed plots. A global city of Amaravati was promised on their lands, they said.

However, with the present government’s decision Amaravati has no future and their lands have no value, they said.

The farmers, after coming out from Raj Bhavan, criticised chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy for going back on the capital promise.

They recalled that Jagan Mohan Reddy as opposition leader did not oppose Amaravati and wondered why he was now working against it.
