Akhila's Hubby, Brother Get Bail

At last, there is some relief for former Andhra Pradesh minister and Telugu Desam Party leader Bhuma Akhila Priya from Allagadda in Kurnool district.

The Andhra Pradesh state high court on Tuesday granted anticipatory bail to Akhila Priya’s husband Bhargav Ram and brother Jagath Vikhyath Reddy in connection with the alleged kidnap of two people from Bowenpally over a property dispute at Hafeezpet.

The high court, which heard the bail petitions of Bhargav Ram and Jagath Vikhyath Reddy, granted them bail with certain conditions.

Not just these two, bail was also granted to Bhargav Rao’s parents – Kiranmai and Nayudu, and two others – Siddharth and Mallikharjun Reddy.

Akhila Priya was arrested by the Hyderabad police on January 6 for her alleged involvement in the kidnap of three persons from their Bowenpally residence in connection with a land dispute. She was made A-1 later.

Apart from Akhila, her husband Bhargav Ram and another senior TDP leader from Kurnool A V Subba Reddy, besides others were found to be involved in hatching and executing the kidnap plan.

The three kidnapped – K Praveen Rao, K Sunil Rao and K Naveen Rao, are said to be distantly related to the chief minister and cousins of KCR’s aide P Venugopal Rao. They were involved in a land dispute with the accused at Hafeezpet on the city outskirts.

Akhila Priya was in judicial remand for 18 days, including four days in police custody for interrogation. Later, she was released on bail.
