RRR: A Big Dent in Theatrical Deals

The release date for Rajamouli’s epic tale “RRR” has been fixed as Jan 7th and the team is all set to release a new teaser on the eve of the Deepavali festival.

The teaser announcement will come shortly.

The teaser launch marks the official promotional campaign for the release of the movie.

The team will be promoting aggressively in North India and Southern states. But, producer Danayya has another problem to deal with.

The distributors in Andhra Pradesh are not ready to pay the record amounts for the movie.

As the current government is in no mood to respond to the demands of a hike in ticket prices, the distributors are playing a safe game. They are renegotiating the earlier deals with the producer.

The overall pre-release theatrical business of “RRR” will see a huge dent.

Starring NTR and Ram Charan, “RRR” is one of the biggest movies in Indian cinema. The film’s business earlier was closed to the tune of Rs 600 to 700 crore worldwide.

This includes theatrical, digital, and other avenues of stream in all languages. But the theatrical business is going to witness a massive cut now.
