Mrunal On Discomfort Doing Intimate Scenes

Mrunal Thakur, who recently starred alongside Vijay Deverakonda in the Telugu film "The Family Star," has been openly discussing her career and personal life.

Despite the film's underwhelming box office performance, it was released on Amazon Prime Video this week, garnering attention.

The actress first gained recognition with the TV show "Kumkum Bhagya" and subsequently rose to greater fame with films like "Love Sonia," "Super 30," "Dhamaka," "Jersey," and "Sita Ramam."

In a recent candid interview, Mrunal discussed her initial discomfort with performing intimate scenes in movies. She shared how she realized that declining roles due to her discomfort was not a sustainable strategy.

"I was not really comfortable doing intimate scenes romantically. I would just get scared and say no to a film, but how long could I keep saying no? There was a point when I had to sit down with my parents and explain that I couldn't miss out on parts just because of this. Sometimes it’s there; it's not my choice. As much as I wanted to do a film, I had to drop it because it involved a kissing scene. As an actor, you need to be ready because sometimes that's the demand of the scene. If you are not comfortable, you can speak up about it, but I kept missing out on films because of that,” Mrunal explained in an interview with iDiva.

Mrunal also disclosed that initially, her parents were hesitant about her performing intimate scenes. When she was offered her first show, her father was not supportive due to the nature of the content, and her work commitments also impacted her college attendance. This led to a crucial conversation where her father advised her to prioritize her show over college, emphasizing the professional commitments she had undertaken.

Looking ahead, Mrunal Thakur is set to appear in another upcoming movie in 2024. The Hindi film, titled "Pooja Meri Jaan," is directed by Navjot Gulati and stars Huma Qureshi, Vikram Singh Chauhan, and Vijay Raaz. This project is another step in her diverse and evolving acting career.
