Irrespective of box-office results, Nara Rohith has earned an image that he picks up right subjects for his films. Most of the movies he has done have a different storyline. Hence, this long-delayed "Kathalo Rajakumari" created interest.
Let's find out its merits and demerits...
Story:
Arjun (Nara Rohith) is a star. He is famous for playing villain characters and in real life too he is headstrong. After winning many awards, he finds that he no longer can express meanness.
There is another star called Shourya (Naga Shourya) who doesn't get enough popularity despite giving his best in every film.
If Arjun can become villain in real life too and take revenge on a person, he may regain his forte of expressing cruelty. This idea prompts him to select his childhood friend Sita (Namitha Pramod) for his plan. After winning her heart, he starts implementing the real plan.
Why does he pick her? What happens later is the main story.
Artistes’ Performances:
Nara Rohith shows two variations in his role but he is more effective when gets to play the villain working in the movie industry.
The film revolves around Rajakumari but actress Namitha doesn't have such beauty to play this role.
Naga Shourya's character lacks depth and it doesn't add much to the story. Prabhas Seenu's comedy is good.
Technical Excellence:
The film has two beautiful songs composed by Ilayaraja. Cinematography is decent but editing work is sloppy. Dialogues are okay. Direction and screenplay is weak.

Analysis:
"Kathalo Rajakumari" rolls on with good childhood episodes and soothing music, setting the right mood. Nara Rohith's introduction as an actor known for playing villain characters is also established rightly. So far so good! Then the film turns slow and it never picks pace.
The director fails totally in his execution. One is left wondering as what happened to the promise shown in the initial scenes. An actor losing his ability to express a particular emotion after one accident is implausible to think.
When the film is about a movie star going all the way to his childhood girl friend to take revenge on her, the heroine's character should be extraordinary. But here the character is weak and also actress Namitha who played the role lacks appeal. A great beauty would have made some difference.
Barring some comedy from Prabhas Seenu and passable episodes, the film offers nothing after a point. The clumsy and predictable second half literally tests our patience.
The roles played by Naga Shourya, Nanditha and Avasarala have not added any value either. So despite the presence of several notable stars, the director fails to capitalize on any of them.
All in all, "Kathalo Rajakumari" is yet another boring film that has hit the theatres in recent times. Despite interesting concept, new director's inability to tackle it and tell it engagingly makes it a tiresome watch.
